TALENT POOL ADVERT — REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
Public Relations: Officer to Director level
If you can turn a story no one is telling into one that every desk wants, we want to hear from you.
Westminster Search is building a talent pool of strong public relations professionals, at every level from Officer to Director, for our clients across charities, membership bodies and agencies. We are not recruiting for one role — we are getting ahead of the next ten. Join the pool now, and we will match you to a live vacancy the moment it fits, at the level that suits your experience.
Why register with this talent pool
- You are matched to relevant roles before they are advertised publicly.
- One conversation with us saves you dozens of applications to individual employers.
- We know the public relations market in detail, and we only put you forward for roles that suit your experience and ambitions.
- You hear about opportunities first, from a consultant who has placed public relations professionals for years.
What public relations roles cover, at every level
- Building and protecting the organisation's reputation with journalists, broadcasters, influencers and the public.
- Planning and delivering media relations, from proactive stories to reactive lines under deadline pressure.
- Drafting press releases, statements, comment pieces and briefing notes that get covered, not ignored.
- Working closely with public affairs and campaigns colleagues so the organisation's public voice stays consistent everywhere it is heard.
- At more senior levels: setting media strategy, leading a team, and advising trustees, Boards or Chief Executives on reputational risk.
What clients are looking for
- Experience in media relations, press office or communications roles — in-house, agency, newsroom or Parliament.
- Strong relationships with journalists and a genuine understanding of what makes a story land.
- Excellent written English, and the instinct to spot a risk before it becomes a headline.
- Composure under pressure, and the confidence to handle a hostile interview request or a difficult journalist.
- For senior roles: a track record of leading teams and advising at Board level, including through a media crisis.
How the talent pool works
