The company is ambitious, agile, and well-regarded within its sector, with clients and collaborators across the UK. As Public Relations Executive, you’ll play a key role in building visibility, managing press activity, and shaping external perception.
The Role
As Public Relations Executive, you will help design and deliver public relations activity that strengthens the company’s reputation, raises awareness of its products and services, and supports business development. You'll work closely with the leadership team and external partners to craft messages that resonate and stand out.
The role is ideal for someone with a couple of years’ experience in PR or communications, whether in-house or agency-side, who is keen to develop their skills further within a creative and commercial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute press releases, thought leadership articles, and media commentary
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets
- Monitor media coverage and industry news, sharing insights with the wider team
- Support planning and delivery of PR campaigns aligned to product launches, events, or partnerships
- Maintain media lists and track engagement, providing regular reports on reach and performance
- Help manage awards submissions and speaking opportunities
- Contribute to social media content, particularly where it supports PR initiatives
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand tone across all public-facing channels
- Support crisis communications and reputational risk response, when necessary
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills
- 1–3 years’ experience in a PR, communications, or media role (agency or in-house)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively
- A keen news sense and understanding of what makes a good media story
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Confidence when working with stakeholders, including colleagues, clients, and journalists
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Familiarity with PR tools and platforms (e.g. media databases, monitoring services)
- A genuine interest in storytelling, media, and brand building
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working in a small business or startup environment
- Basic knowledge of SEO, social media analytics, or content marketing
- Design or editing skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus, but not essential
- A relevant qualification in PR, media, communications, or journalism
