Westminster Search

Recruitment Fees and Terms

How much does recruitment with Westminster Search cost?

Our fee is a percentage of the successful candidate's first-year salary. The percentage is negotiable and depends on the role. Contact Joseph Henry at joseph.henry@westminstersearch.com for details.

Do you work on a contingency or retained basis?

Both. We agree the right basis with you depending on the brief, the seniority of the role and how quickly you need to fill it.

What is the difference between retained and contingency recruitment?

With contingency recruitment, you pay only if we place a candidate. With retained recruitment, you pay a fee upfront to secure our full attention and resource on the search, usually for senior or hard-to-fill roles.

Which recruitment model is right for my organisation?

It depends on the role. Senior, confidential or hard-to-fill appointments usually suit a retained search. More straightforward roles often work well on a contingency basis. We will recommend the right approach once we understand the brief.

When are recruitment fees payable?

On the candidate's start date. Alternative arrangements are possible depending on the role.

Do you charge an upfront fee?

No. Alternative arrangements are possible depending on the role.

Are there any additional recruitment costs?

No. Our fee covers the full search and selection process, with no other costs.

What happens if a candidate leaves shortly after joining?

We offer a three-month guarantee period, with a rebate on a sliding scale should the candidate leave within that time.

Do you offer a replacement or rebate period?

Yes, for three months, with a rebate on a sliding scale.

Are your terms negotiable?

Yes. Contact Joseph Henry at joseph.henry@westminstersearch.com to discuss terms.

Can you work exclusively on a recruitment assignment?

Yes. Contact Joseph Henry at joseph.henry@westminstersearch.com for details.

Can we use other recruitment agencies at the same time?

You can, but we would not recommend it. Running several agencies on the same brief tends to turn a search into a race to fill the role quickly, rather than a search for the right candidate. We believe quality serves you better than speed.
