Communications Officer | London | Competitive Salary
Our client, a reputable organisation based in London, is seeking a motivated Communications Officer to join their communications team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop their skills in corporate communications whilst supporting a range of internal and external communications activities.
The Role
As Communications Officer, you will support the delivery of communications strategies across multiple channels, helping to enhance the organisation's reputation and engage with key stakeholders. You will work closely with senior communications colleagues to create compelling content and coordinate communications activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of communications plans and strategies
- Write and edit content for various communications channels including website, newsletters, and social media
- Assist with media relations activities and maintain media contact databases
- Coordinate internal communications and employee engagement initiatives
- Support event management and stakeholder engagement activities
- Monitor media coverage and compile regular reports
- Create and maintain communications materials including fact sheets and presentations
- Assist with crisis communications and reputation management activities
- Support the management of digital communications channels and social media platforms
- Coordinate with external agencies and suppliers as required
- Maintain brand guidelines and ensure consistent messaging across all communications
- Provide administrative support to the communications team
The Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic communications professional with strong writing skills and a keen interest in developing their career in corporate communications.
Essential Requirements:
- 1-3 years' experience in communications, marketing, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and proof-reading abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with social media platforms and digital communications
- Understanding of media relations and communications principles
- Degree in relevant field (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Professional demeanour and stakeholder management skills
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with content management systems and email marketing platforms
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
- Understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles
- Experience in internal communications and employee engagement
- Knowledge of crisis communications and reputation management
- Professional development courses in communications or PR
