Campaign Manager – Charity - Bristol
Westminster Search is delighted to be working with a respected and impactful charity based in Newcastle to recruit a strategic and creative Campaign Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced campaigner to lead public engagement initiatives that inspire action, raise awareness, and influence change on some of the most pressing issues affecting communities in the North East and beyond.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the charity’s external voice, leading public-facing campaigns that combine communications, grassroots mobilisation, policy influence, and storytelling to drive real-world outcomes.
The Role
As Campaign Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of cross-channel campaigns that align with the charity’s mission and values. You’ll work closely with policy, communications, fundraising, and service delivery teams to design impactful campaigns that speak to supporters, stakeholders, and decision-makers alike.
This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who is passionate about social justice, community empowerment, and creative campaigning that makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver compelling campaign strategies that engage the public and influence policy
- Coordinate multi-channel campaign activity across digital, print, media, events, and community outreach
- Collaborate with service users, volunteers, and partner organisations to ensure campaigns are authentic, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience
- Create campaign materials including social media content, supporter emails, briefing packs, and storytelling assets
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, reporting on reach, impact, and learning
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including with local authorities, MPs, media, and community leaders
- Support national and regional policy influencing efforts by contributing campaign insight and supporter mobilisation
- Work closely with communications and digital teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment
- Lead supporter engagement initiatives, petitions, events, and calls to action
- Act as an internal advocate for campaigning across the organisation, supporting colleagues to build confidence and capability
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience planning and delivering public campaigns, preferably in the charity, community, or advocacy sectors
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging content and compelling messages for different audiences
- Strong understanding of campaigning tools, tactics, and techniques, including digital and grassroots mobilisation
- Confident working with diverse communities and embedding inclusivity in campaign design
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a calm and focused approach
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as media, elected officials, and partner organisations
- Understanding of the UK social and political context, particularly in the North East
Desirable Attributes
- Knowledge of regional inequalities, social justice issues, or poverty-related campaigning
- Experience using digital campaigning tools (e.g. Action Network, Mailchimp, Canva)
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Experience of co-production or participatory campaign development
- Knowledge of safeguarding and ethical campaigning best practice
