Account Manager - Financial Services - London - Competitive
Our client, a prestigious Financial Services PR Agency based in London, is seeking a talented Account Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high-profile financial services clients within a dynamic agency environment serving blue-chip financial institutions.
The Role
As Account Manager, you will manage client relationships and support the delivery of strategic communications campaigns for financial services clients. You will work closely with senior team members whilst developing your expertise in financial services PR and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day client relationships and act as primary point of contact
- Support the development and execution of PR campaigns for financial services clients
- Write press releases, briefing documents, and other communications materials
- Coordinate media relations activities and maintain journalist relationships
- Monitor media coverage and provide regular reporting to clients
- Support crisis communications and reputation management activities
- Assist with new business pitches and proposal development
- Ensure compliance with FCA communications guidelines and financial services regulations
- Collaborate with team members on integrated communications campaigns
- Contribute to agency thought leadership and content development
The Candidate
We are seeking a motivated PR professional with experience in account management and a keen interest in financial services communications.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in public relations, preferably within an agency environment
- Experience in account management and client relationship building
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in or knowledge of financial services sector
- Experience writing press releases and communications materials
- Understanding of media relations and journalist engagement
- Degree in relevant field (Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PR software/databases
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client accounts
Highly Desirable:
- Previous financial services PR experience
- Professional PR qualification (CIPR or studying towards)
- Experience with digital communications and social media
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
- Agency experience with blue-chip clients
