Account Executive - Public Affairs - London - Competitive
Our client, a leading Public Affairs consultancy based in London, is seeking a bright and ambitious Account Executive to join their growing team. The Role
As Account Executive, you will support senior consultants in delivering strategic public affairs campaigns for a diverse range of clients. You will gain exposure to government relations, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement whilst developing your understanding of the political and regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of public affairs campaigns and strategies
- Conduct political and policy research and analysis
- Monitor parliamentary proceedings, government consultations, and regulatory developments
- Prepare briefing documents, position papers, and client reports
- Assist with stakeholder mapping and engagement planning
- Support client meetings and provide administrative coordination
- Help organise political events, roundtables, and parliamentary receptions
- Maintain client databases and contact management systems
- Monitor media coverage and political developments relevant to client issues
- Assist with new business proposals and pitch preparation
- Support senior team members with day-to-day account management
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated graduate with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in politics, policy, and public affairs.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong academic background, preferably in Politics, International Relations, Law, Economics, or related field
- 1-2 years' experience in public affairs, government relations, policy, or political environment
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong understanding of UK political system and parliamentary processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Professional demeanour and strong interpersonal skills
- Genuine interest in current affairs and political developments
Highly Desirable:
- Previous internship or work experience in Westminster, government, or political organisations
- Understanding of EU regulatory processes and international affairs
- Experience with public affairs software and monitoring tools
- Second language skills, particularly European languages
- Membership of professional bodies (CIPR, PRCA, or APPC)
