Account Executive – Healthcare PR - Manchester

The Role
As Account Executive, you’ll play a key supporting role on a range of healthcare accounts, helping to deliver creative, high-impact communications campaigns. You will contribute to content development, media relations, client servicing, and campaign coordination, gaining hands-on experience and learning from senior colleagues in a supportive, expert-led environment.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in health, excellent writing skills, and a proactive attitude who is eager to build a career in PR and communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of communications campaigns across healthcare clients
- Draft press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, newsletters, and social media content
- Monitor health policy, media coverage, and industry trends relevant to client objectives
- Help coordinate client activity such as events, press briefings, media interviews, and campaign launches
- Support media outreach and maintain journalist contact lists
- Contribute to stakeholder mapping, research, and campaign planning
- Prepare meeting notes, activity trackers, and regular client reports
- Participate in brainstorming and creative idea development
- Work closely with colleagues across public affairs, digital, and content teams
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience or internships in PR, communications, journalism, or public affairs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately for different audiences
- Strong interest in healthcare, public health, or life sciences
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proactive team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Curious and informed about media and political developments in health
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with healthcare communications, policy, or campaigning
- Understanding of the NHS, health charities, or pharmaceutical sector
- Experience using media monitoring tools or content management systems
- Degree in communications, public relations, biomedical sciences, public health, or a related subject
- Knowledge of issues such as health inequalities, patient advocacy, or clinical innovation
